Show Notes

If you're feeling overwhelmed and unsupported as a woman physician trying to balance your career and motherhood, despite your best efforts to manage it all, then you are not alone! You may be constantly juggling between patient care, administrative tasks, and family responsibilities, leaving you little time for self-care and personal fulfillment. Your efforts to find a supportive workplace environment that understands and accommodates the unique challenges you face may feel futile, as you encounter a lack of resources, unsympathetic colleagues, and a rigid work culture. The result you desire - a workplace that values and supports your role as a woman physician and mother - remains elusive, leaving you feeling frustrated and exhausted.

My special guest is Dr. Carlee Carranza

Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, Dr. Carlee Carranza is no stranger to challenges and adversity. The first physician in her family, Carlee was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by her mother's fearless leadership in the corporate world and her two mentors - her lacrosse coach and a friend's dental surgeon father. Her path took her from New York to Los Angeles, where she worked on the frontlines during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, she stands as a testament to resilience, not only surviving but thriving despite the tumultuous circumstances.

In this episode, you will be able to:

  • Learn how to create an inclusive atmosphere in workplaces, particularly focusing on the significance of support for female physicians.
